Lot 2225 - 1940's WWII Gunner Deck Smock - Ecru

Lot 2225 - 1940's WWII Gunner Deck Smock - Ecru

The Lot 2225 is Warehouse’s take on the WWII U.S. Navy gunner deck smock: a pullover anorak based on the later, closed-placket model for better protection on deck. Early wartime versions were made in denim; this iteration uses an ecru selvedge twill with the right period hand and drape. The cut is boxy for easy layering, the hood is generous with sturdy ties, and the hem cinches with a rope drawcord. Dual patch pockets with flaps anchor the front. Postwar, surplus smocks like this became a campus staple, with some even over-dyed to hide grime. One-wash finishing takes out shrink before it reaches you.

  • 100% cotton twill, natural ecru

  • Pullover anorak with roomy hood and sturdy ties
  • Large lower patch pockets with flaps
  • Adjustable hem with drawcord
  • Boxy, easy fit for layering
  • One-wash to remove shrink
  • Durable double-needle seam construction
  • Made in Japan
